If you’ve qualified for Energy Assistance and encounter furnace or boiler issues, Community Action may be able to help.
This part of the Energy Assistance Program is for income-eligible homeowners facing furnace, boiler, or heating system emergencies.
It provides grants for repairs or replacements to ensure safe, functional home heating with emergency services available for broken systems.
Am I Eligible?
To be considered for Emergency Furnace or Boiler Repair, you must:
Apply for Energy Assistance through CAPRW
Be an eligible homeowner or renter
Contact CAPRW first before calling a mechanical or heating professional
Have not already hired a contractor to diagnose the problem, as we cannot reimburse outside work

Please do not hire a contractor to diagnose or repair the issue. Our program cannot reimburse for outside work. All diagnostic and repair work must be authorized by our program and completed by one of our approved mechanical contractors.
If you are experiencing a heating emergency, it is best to call us or come directly to our office so we can assist you as quickly as possible.
Our team will review your situation and determine if a heating system evaluation by a trained technician can be scheduled.
