Community Action Partnership of Ramsey & Washington Counties (Community Action) was established in 1964 as a program of the War on Poverty. Community Action Agencies became the service delivery arm of the Federal Office of Economic Opportunity. As the only continuously funded anti-poverty program in the country, our mission is to mobilize community resources to reduce poverty.

Mobilizing resources is a big part of our project known as Opportunity St. Paul: A Community Solution. This year-long project focuses on collaboration, inclusion and action. Working with people living in low income circumstances, nonprofit partners and city officials, our goal is to develop meaningful and effective action steps to be put into practice in 2013.

Community Action is involved in grassroots public policy and community engagement activities, such as voter registration drives, legislative hearings, advocacy and education activities. View our legislative agenda.
