Volunteer to make Head Start Comfort Kits in June
KARE 11 Staff , KARE 9:46 AM. CDT June 02, 2016

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn.–Community Action Partnership of Ramsey & Washington Counties is looking for volunteers in June.

Community Action Partnership of Ramsey & Washington Counties serves over 1,700 children in their Head Start & Early Head Start programs. Since 1965, Head Start has been serving the needs of disadvantaged infants, children, and pregnant women providing quality early childhood education for families in Ramsey County.

Right now volunteers are needed to help assemble 1,450 comfort kits to be given to Head Start children ages 3 to 5. These comfort kits will help the children and their families feel cared for and secure.

Head Start children are in need of necessities such as underwear, stretchy/sweat pants, socks, mittens, hats, toothpaste, toothbrushes, floss, combs, hair accessories, books, and snacks. Volunteer teams can work together to collect and assemble comfort kits for the program’s school-aged children. This volunteer opportunity can be brought directly to you or assembled at Community Action Partnership of Ramsey & Washington Counties’ headquarters. Volunteers of all ages are welcome.
